During the meeting Olga Golodets asked the Commission to check whether all children from disadvantaged families have vouchers for summer camps. She called for an analysis of what the children do in summer and for holidays to be organised for them.
In addition, Yuri Demidov, Head of the Main Directorate for the Protection of Public Order and Coordination of Interaction with Executive Authorities of the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation at the Ministry of the Interior, proposed sending all children from disadvantaged families on holiday to summer camps. He said that 196,000 juvenile offenders and 138,000 parents who are not fulfilling their obligations on raising and supporting their children are currently on the registers of Internal Affairs departments.
