Participants of the 11th East
Asia Summit will focus on strengthening security and ensuring sustainable
economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the state and prospects
of cooperation within the EAS in priority areas, such as energy, finance,
healthcare, and education.
The summit participants will adopt EAS declarations on migration and cooperation in the sphere of infrastructure development in East Asia.
The Prime Minister of Russia will hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit.
The East Asia Summit was created as a strategic dialogue forum for leaders of the Asia-Pacific region on security and economic growth. The EAS is held annually. This year, the summit will be held in the capital of Laos, Vientiane, and bring together the leaders of 18 countries.
