While delivering a lecture during the Civil University project, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said that 2013 state defence contracts would be adjusted, and that ammunition-purchase quotas would increase. At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the ammunition industry must be modernised. An anti-crisis strategy was drafted especially for the ammunition and firearms industry.
The issue of a new system for calculating initial prices for military products will also be examined in the near future, Mr Rogozin noted. Under the new pricing system, enterprises should not find themselves in the red.
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that companies should receive sufficient funding to compensate them for their production costs, ensure the amortisation of fixed assets, allow them to buy new machine-tools, increase the number of test benches and other testing facilities, help train highly qualified specialists, and launch housing construction programmes.
