The meeting focused on the results of the Federal Targeted Programme “Increasing the Effectiveness of the Use and Development of Fisheries Industry Resources for 2009 – 2012.” Some system-wide problems were outlined and measures were developed to solve them and rectify the faults revealed during the implementation of the programme.
The members of the Commission emphasised the need for insurance for officials from state fisheries oversight agencies. The Deputy Prime Minister instructed the federal executive bodies to prepare the necessary legal framework.
The meeting participants also discussed the National Plan for Preventing, Curbing and Eliminating Illegal, Unreported and Non-Regulated
Fishing and List of Priority Measures for its Implementation up to 2014. Following the discussion, Mr Dvorkovich instructed the Ministry of Agriculture to finalise these documents as soon as possible.
The meeting also approved a number of measures to increase the effectiveness of state management of the fisheries sector, developed by the Ministry of Agriculture.
Following the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed the Commission members to develop the Federal Targeted Programme “Increasing the Effectiveness of the Use and Development of Fisheries Industry Resources for 2015 – 2020.
