Dmitry Medvedev has held a meeting of the Board of Trustees and presented the SKOLKOVO Trend Awards 2015.
From Dmitry Medvedev’s opening remarks:
The Skolkovo school recently turned nine years old. During this time, about 12,000 people have completed a course of training here. Last year alone, there were about 3,000 students here, half of whom were employees of major companies that have made it into the top Russian and international business rating lists.
The school offers a variety of programmes: from startups to corporate operations on international markets. There are MBA and Executive MBA programmes, advanced corporate management training, strategic business vision development and Skolkovo’s own programmes designed to establish and promote new companies.
This year, new public sector programmes were developed and carried out: advanced management training for ministry and government officials and municipal authorities in Tatartstan, strategic sessions for the government of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area and a team training programme for the development of single-industry towns.
There are joint programmes with educational establishments abroad: in Germany, Spain, the United States and China, among others.
About 150 professors from the world’s leading business schools teach here. Such formats of interaction between Russian and foreign experts allow us to develop in line with global trends. This is why the Global Education state programme was developed, which is also operated by Skolkovo. During the past year, over 1,000 applications came from Russian citizens wishing to study abroad; 150 people are studying at 50 leading universities in other countries.
We are actively developing cooperation with countries of Asia and Latin America. In December, the school plans to launch the first fundamental education programme with China. In conjunction with the International Labour Organisation, the school is running a project to forecast future demand for labour professions. A training simulator was developed for technical college administration, which has received positive comments from international experts and will soon be utilised for college administration training in Latin America and Southeast Asia. Training sessions in CIS countries were also a success.
Even now, the Skolkovo School of Management can be regarded as a unique intellectual space that has brought together managers from leading Russian corporations, entrepreneurs, civil servants and foreign experts.
