Transcript of the beginning of the meeting:
Dmitry Medvedev: Good afternoon! Mr Abrahamyan, considering our agreement (I’m referring to your proposal to meet and discuss current issues in Russian-Armenian cooperation, some issues with the economy, and some Armenian proposals) I said we could do this, meet during your short working visit, and discuss the economy, as well as some currently topical issues concerning our energy cooperation. In general, I’d like to hear your opinion about the developments in your country where emotions have been running high recently. We are keeping a close eye on what is happening in Armenia because you are our neighbour, ally, and a close state. Naturally, we are not indifferent to what is happing in a friendly country. So I’d like to welcome you here and hope that we can work intensively and productively.
Hovik Abrahamyan: Mr Medvedev, thank you for this meeting. I’m very glad to meet with you again. I’ll speak directly and say that everything is truly stable in Armenia. We are constantly working to consolidate our allied relations and cooperation with Russia. Apart from the warm and friendly relations between our countries, we have been cooperating with Russia in the Eurasian Economic Union since last January, which is very important for us. As you said, there are several issues that I’d like to discuss with you. Thank you.
