Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has held a telephone conversation with his Finnish counterpart, Juha Sipila, on the initiative of the Finnish side.
The two leaders noted the traditionally friendly nature of Russian-Finnish relations, discussed key issues on the bilateral agenda, including the development of mutual trade, the implementation of joint energy projects and the work of the Russian-Finnish Intergovernmental Commission.
The prime ministers also discussed the current state of relations between Russia and the European Union and other issues of mutual interest.
Mr Sipila has expressed his personal condolences and those of the Government of Finland on Yevgeny Primakov’s death.
