The following issues are scheduled for discussion at the Government meeting:
1. On the Socioeconomic Development of the Russian Far East and the Baikal Region draft state programme
The draft state programme provides for forming conditions for the Russian Far East and the Baikal Region's accelerated development, transforming it into a competitive region with a diversified economy, and improving the social and demographic situation throughout the macro-region.
The state programme includes two federal targeted programmes and 11 sub-programmes, namely:
- the Socioeconomic Development of the Russian Far East and the Baikal Region to 2018 federal targeted programme;
- the Socioeconomic Development of the Kuril Islands (Sakhalin Region) in 2007-2015 federal targeted programme;
sub-programmes:
- Improving the Efficiency of the Economy of Russian Far East and the Baikal Region;
- Developing the Minerals and Raw Materials Complex of the Russian Far East and the Baikal Region;
- Developing the Forestry Sector of the Russian Far East and the Baikal Region;
- Developing the Fishery Sector in the Russian Far East and the Baikal Region;
- Developing the Agro-Industrial Complex in the Russian Far East and the Baikal Region;
- Developing Transport Infrastructure in the Russian Far East and the Baikal Region;
- Developing Energy Infrastructure in the Russian Far East and the Baikal Region;
- Creating Most Livable Conditions for Population in the Russian Far East and the Baikal Region;
- Securing ecological safety and environmental protection in the Russian Far East and the Baikal Region;
- Research and Staff Support for the Socioeconomic Development of the Russian Far East and the Baikal Region state programme;
- Developing Tourism in the Russian Far East and the Baikal Region.
