Dmitry Medvedev visited several expositions during the second Startup Village conference.
Startup Village is the largest conference of start-ups in Russia and is organised by the Skolkovo Foundation. It is attended by startup companies and teams from Russian regions, CIS and other countries, investors, as well as delegates from development institutions, large tech companies, business communities and students.
This year, 250 projects in four areas were selected for the Startup Village competition. Eighty of them were presented within the framework of the Russian Startup Tour, which was held from 20 January to 24 April in 27 Russian cities and included about 9,000 participants.
The Startup Village international competition of startups and investors is held in the format of the best foreign startup fairs, such as TechCrunch (US), PioneersFestival (Austria) and SLUSH (Finland). One element of the fair is that it provides an informal atmosphere that helps start-up businesspeople network with investors.

Dmitry Medvedev’s remarks at the presentation of the start-up project competition results:
Hi everybody! I’d like to say that our Startup Village is getting warmer with each passing year. The weather was worse last year, but it is absolutely fabulous this year, and I’m sure that everyone’s mood coincides with today’s weather.
The idea of this conference is really wonderful, and I believe that it appeared for a reason. As you know, we had a lot of participants - about 10,000 people, 27 cities - took part and made this idea possible.
Many projects were presented, about 2,000 if memory serves, of which slightly more than 20 have been selected for the conference. We have attended some of these presentations. And now we are just listening to them. Frankly, I’m impressed. I hope that today’s speakers will be able to commercialise their extremely interesting projects, ultimately earning revenues and helping people. I hope that everyone here will achieve this result.
Dmitry Medvedev: "Many projects were presented, about 2,000 if memory serves, of which slightly more than 20 have been selected for the conference. We have attended some of these presentations."
A few more words about what we are doing here. You can see the construction projects all around you. This is Skolkovo, a centre that has become well known, and not only in Russia. I want to assure you that we will keep working here to bring the public-private partnership initiative to its logical conclusion. We will build a large innovation centre here and SkolTech, the Skolkovo Institute of Science And Technology, a very serious institution that has already invited many foreign professionals and professors. I’d like to thank them for coming to Russia, for working here and for casting their lot with Russia.
What we need for this project is money. I’d like to say that despite temporary financial difficulties, which any country can have, we will carry out all the projects that have the stamp of government approval. Skolkovo is one of these projects. I hope you will provide all the support you can to this and will participate in it.

Have a good time at Startup Village. See you next year, and good luck.
