During the visit, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich met with Croatian Prime Minister Zolan Milanovic to discuss bilateral cooperation between the countries.
In particular, they discussed the energy sector, especially the exploration and processing industries, the South Stream project, and the legal framework of cooperation in connection with Croatia’s accession to the European Union.
Another topic of the meeting was tourism development, including travelling, infrastructure development, humanitarian exchange, and the situation with easing visa restrictions.
During his trip to Croatia, Mr Dvorkovich also met with Minister of Economy Ivan Vrdoljak.
A news conference was also held marking the appointment of Mr Dvorkovich as an ambassador to the Youth Sports Games.
“This is a great honour for me. It is especially a great honour for me to be here ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will start in 10 days,” the Deputy Prime Minister said. “It is necessary to involve children and young people in sport. Participating in these games, they will be able to become professional athletes,” he said.
