Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed the Policy Priorities of the Government of the Russian Federation to 2018.
The document was introduced by the Prime Minister at the expanded meeting of the Government on January 31, 2013.
The guidelines were developed in accordance with the federal constitutional law On the Government of the Russian Federation. They define the goals and priorities of the Government's policy for long-term socioeconomic development.
The document is intended to aid the implementation of the President's executive orders of May 7, 2012, which set long-term targets in improving government administration, promoting inter-ethnic harmony, economic, demographic and social policy, healthcare, education and science, and affordable housing for citizens; as well as the goals set in the President's Annual Address to the Federal Assembly in 2012. State programmes will be the main tool for implementing the guidelines.
