The indoor skating centre that covers a total area of 49,600 sq m and can accommodate 8,000 spectators opened on December 12, 2012.
Construction costs totaled 7.4 billion roubles.
The centre hosted the Russian Speed Skating Championships on December 24-30, 2012. Later, the venue was used for the ISU World Cup on March 17-25, 2013.
After the Olympics, the skating centre will be turned into an exhibition hall.
The Apart Hotel covers an area of 24.6 ha and offers 3-star and 4-star accommodations (3,600 rooms, including 400 4-star rooms).
The hotel is scheduled to open on October 31, 2013.
Construction costs totaled 13.3 billion roubles.
Currently, the hotel is 85% ready. All of the utility systems are completed except the electrical system which is still being finished.
After the Olympics, the venue will be used as a hotel and commercial property.
