Reference
The respective directive has been prepared and submitted by the Ministry of Sport to comply with the list of Presidential instructions No Pr-3305 dated 6 December 2012 made following the meeting of the Presidential Council on the Development of Physical Fitness and Sport.
The implementation of the state programme will support the following:
- a twofold increase in the percentage of individuals exercising and doing sport on a regular basis (from 20% in 2011 to 40% in 2020);
- a sevenfold increase in the percentage of disabled individuals exercising and doing sport on a regular basis (from 3% in 2011 to 20% in 2020);
- a twofold increase in the percentage of school and university students exercising and doing sport on a regular basis (from 43% in 2011 to 80% in 2020);
- a twofold increase in the maximum capacity of sport facilities, including the facilities for the disabled (from 24.5% in 2011 to 48% in 2020);
- a 1.5% increase in the percentage of Russian athletes winning medals at the Summer Olympics from the total number of Russian athletes participating in the Games (from 29.6% in 2012 to 31.1% in 2020);
- a 2.3-times increase in the percentage of Russian athletes winning medals at the Winter Olympics from the total number of Russian athletes participating in the Games (from 12% in 2010 to 27.1% in 2018).
The implementation of the state programme will ensure that the 2013 World Summer Universiade in Kazan is held in accordance with the requirements of the International University Sports Federation, the 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi are held in accordance with the requirements of the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee, and the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia are held in accordance with the FIFA requirements.
