The Government meeting has approved the draft law, to be submitted to the State Duma, on the ratification of the agreement on cooperation with the People’s Republic of China for the joint construction and operation of the International Lunar Research Station.
The implementation of the agreement will help promote strategic partnership between Russia and China, develop joint space activities, and consolidate Russia’s leading role in space exploration, including lunar exploration projects.
In addition, bilateral cooperation will make it possible to increase the effectiveness of space exploration and train scientists and specialists to implement space research projects in the future.
The intergovernmental Russian-Chinese agreement on cooperation for the building of the International Lunar Station was signed in Moscow and Beijing on 25 November 2022.
