The countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will create the Eurasian Reinsurance Company. The Government has endorsed the establishment of this company and submitted the agreement for ratification by the State Duma.
The Eurasian Reinsurance Company will provide insurance support in mutual and foreign trade to companies in the EAEU countries and encourage the development of investment cooperation, as well as ensure export loans and interaction with credit agencies and insurers.
In 2023-2025, the costs of Russia’s share in the organisation’s charter capital will amount to 6.75 billion roubles and will be funded from the federal budget.
The agreement was signed in Yerevan on 20 October 2020 following the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and his counterparts from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
