Russia and Uzbekistan will comprehensively develop trade and increase exports, including agricultural products, according to the Memorandum of Cooperation on the development of logistics corridors signed following a meeting of the Joint Commission at the heads of government level.
The document envisages priority areas for cooperation, including the improvement of customs, sanitary and phytosanitary procedures, fast-tracking the movement of goods between the two countries, implementation of infrastructure projects, in particular, agricultural-logistics and wholesale distribution centers, and developing state agency cooperation in digitalisation.
Within these areas, the parties will develop and implement joint action plans, exchange information and documents and prepare analytical reports on issues of mutual interest.
The execution of the memorandum will be coordinated by the Ministry of Economic Development from the Russian side and by the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade from the Uzbekistani side.
The implementation of the document will help to minimise foreign trade barriers and create transport routes with more flexible customs and logistics procedures.
