The Federal Agency for Fishery (Rosrybolovstvo) will issue permits to export brine shrimp eggs (cysts), according to the Government decision. The decision was made at the request of businesses. A relevant instruction has been signed.
Artemia, or brine shrimp, is a crustacean that lives in salty lakes. Its eggs (cysts) are used in poultry fodder, in breeding fish juveniles, and as a biological fertiliser in garden and vegetable cultivation.
The companies that export the eggs used to have difficulties with receiving permits because the law did not specify the powers of government agencies on this issue. Now that the power to issue permits has been delegated to Rosrybolovstvo, businesses will no longer face these obstacles.
A special export license will be issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade using permits by the Federal Agency for Fishery.
