Russia plans to strengthen its position in the domestic electronics industry. Exports in this category will receive priority support. The instruction was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The promotion of domestic electronics manufacturing is envisaged by the strategy for the industry’s development until 2030. The Government drafted it under Presidential instruction and endorsed it in January 2020.
One of the main goals for industry development over the next 10 years is to increase revenue by 2.5 times and exports by almost three times.
This goal is to be achieved through the development of the scientific and technical potential, streamlining and upgrading production facilities, the introduction of new industrial technology, the improvement of legal regulations and the training of highly qualified personnel.
In March Mikhail Mishustin devoted a special meeting to the development of domestically produced electronics with the participation of the relevant deputy prime ministers and federal ministers. He urged them to focus on three components: investment, import substitution and the creation of efficient conditions, including benefits and preferences for companies in this segment.
