The money was allocated under the state programme Economic Development and the Innovation-Driven Economy.
An additional 1.2 billion roubles will be allocated
for grants to support projects for the development of domestic and inbound
tourism, according to a directive signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The additional funding will support 400 public and private business initiatives. The money will be taken from the Government’s reserve fund under the state programme Economic Development and the Innovation-Driven Economy.
Self-employed entrepreneurs and companies will be entitled to grants for the development of new tourist routes, mobile travel guides, and infrastructure for people with disabilities, as well as the purchase of modular hotels and equipment for information centres.
The Federal Tourism Agency competition commission will review applications and determine the level of financial assistance. The ceiling amount for the grant is 3 million roubles.
