Companies that keep their employees are eligible for government support.
The Government will allocate over 81.1 billion roubles from the Reserve Fund to the Federal Treasury to subsidise small and medium-sized businesses in industries which have been hardest hit by the coronavirus outbreak in 2020.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the Government to support companies that qualify. Financial aid in the amount of 12,130 roubles (the minimum wage) per employee can be used to address the most urgent matters, including salary payments. The application for the subsidy is to be filed through the taxpayer’s account on the Federal Taxation Service website or by mail.
The requirement for receiving a subsidy is that a company must keep at least 90 percent of the employees it had in March 2020. Over 970,000 companies can apply for support.
