The Arctic Race international bicycle race has taken place under the aegis of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) since 2013 and comprises four stages. Since 2015, the Arctic Race has been a multi-day event, with participants including world professional teams (UCI World Teams), European professional teams (UCI Europe Tour), and teams representing the organising country, Norway. The UCI places the Arctic Race in its highest rated category. Russia has never hosted top UCI races previously. In 2017, the Arctic Race took place in Norway on 10-13 August.
The signed directive resolves that Russia's stage of the Arctic Race international bicycle race will take place in the Murmansk Region in 2018.
Federal executive bodies have been tasked with issuing visas, organising priority crossing of the state border of the Russian Federation for participants and organisers of the Arctic Race, performing customs formalities without customs fees, providing public safety and securing public order at race locations, providing medical services and public health monitoring, as well as other instructions.
