The joint project of the Russian Federation and the World Health Organisation is aimed at intensifying multisectoral anti-tuberculosis measures. To implement this project, it is proposed to allocate funds from the federal budget to pay a special-purpose contribution to WHO in 2018-2020 in the amount of up to $14.8 million, including up to $4.9 million in 2018, up to $5.1 million in 2019, and up to $4.8 million in 2020.

The joint project of the Russian Federation and the World Health Organisation is aimed at intensifying multisectoral anti-tuberculosis measures (hereinafter, WHO, the joint project, respectively), provides for Russia’s and WHO’s participation in the preparation of the UN General Assembly High Level Meeting on TB in 2018, and anti-tuberculosis assistance in 2018-2020 to 25 countries (Azerbaijan, Angola, Bangladesh, Belarus, Brazil, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Uzbekistan, the Philippines, Ethiopia, and South Africa) with high TB incidence, morbidity and mortality.
The joint project will be implemented by WHO specialists with Russian phthisiology research institutes and Russian experts.
To implement the joint project, the newly signed directive allocates funds from the federal budget to pay a special-purpose contribution to WHO in 2018-2020 in the amount of up to $14.8 million, including up to $4.9 million in 2018, up to $5.1 million in 2019, and up to $4.8 million in 2020. These funds are earmarked in the federal budget for 2017 and for the 2018 and 2019 planning period.
