The World Russian-Language Media Conference is a global forum of Russian-language media that is held annually in one of the countries of the world. Over the years, the conference has taken place in the United States, Ukraine, Germany, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, France, Israel, Italy, Belarus and China.
This year, the conference takes place in Moscow and is attended by some 500 publishers, chief editors of Russian-language foreign media and leading journalists from 65 countries.
The conference is organised by the World Association of Russian Press (WARP), TASS News Agency (ITAR-TASS) and WARP Foundation for Cooperation with Russian-Language Media.
Recently, the Government of the Russian Federation started the practice of presenting letters of award to the foreign Russian-language media that are most respected in their countries.
By a resolution signed in 2015, the Government awarded the following media for their valuable contribution to promoting Russian language and culture and consolidating Russian nationals abroad: newspapers Angliya (United Kingdom), Vecherny Tbilisi (Georgia), Prazhsky Ekspress (Czech Republic) and the magazine Russkiye Emiraty (Dubai, UAE).
In 2014, the Russian Government honoured the newspaper Diaspora (US), the KAZINFORM International News Agency (Kazakhstan) and China Radio International (China).
