The Agreement between the Russian Federal Service for Drug Control (hereinafter referred to as the FSDC of Russia) and the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan (hereinafter referred to as the DCA of Tajikistan) on assisting Tajikistan’s Drug Control Agency in combating the illegal trade of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement) was signed on 5 October 2012, in Dushanbe and remained in force until 31 December 2014.
The Agreement, in effect for over two years, helped the DCA of Tajikistan improve its efficiency.
The signed directive approved the proposal of the FSDC of Russia to hold talks on signing a similar Agreement with the DCA of Tajikistan for the period until 2017.
The draft Agreement provides for rendering gratuitous help to the DCA of Tajikistan by implementing the Programme for assistance in combating the illegal trade of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors. The Programme is an integral part of the Agreement and is planned for 2015-2017.
The decision was made in line with the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union and other international agreements of Russia.
