Following Russian Government Directive No. 1913-r of 21 October 2013, an organising committee was established to prepare and hold the 2015 FINA World Masters Championships in Kazan (hereinafter referred to as the championships). The same document instructs the Russian Foreign Ministry to provide for issuing visas to journalists and high-ranking guests at the committee’s request without charging fees.
At the meeting on 29 October 2012, the FINA Bureau decided to expand the traditional format of the FINA World championships by including the Masters category starting from 2015.
The FINA World Master Championships will be held from 5 to 15 August 2015 and will involve about 6,000 athletes from 110 countries, including winners and medallists of the Olympic Games and world and continental championships. In total, athletes will be competing for 653 sets of medals.
Individual applications should be submitted to participate in the Masters tournament.
Following the directive, the Foreign Ministry is to ensure issuing visas to the participants at the committee’s request without charging fees.
This will allow Russian visas to be issued to 6,000 participants in the FINA World Masters Championships without charging fees.
