Talks will be held to conclude a protocol on law enforcement cooperation between customs services of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, hereinafter referred to as protocol.
The protocol was drafted in the conduct of the implementation of the agreement dated 2 November 2007 on customs cooperation between the governments of the SCO member countries and the agreement of 11 June 2010 on joint anti-crime efforts between the governments of the SCO member countries.
The protocol aims to ensure more efficient cooperation between customs services of the SCO member countries in exposing, thwarting and preventing crimes and legal infractions in the customs sector.
For example, the customs bodies
plan to conduct bilateral and multilateral assessments of the situation on
customs borders and at checkpoints, to provide mutual assistance in checking
and submitting information on individuals systematically violating customs
legislation and to improve operational-search activity.
