The Federal Service for State Statistics (Rosstat) is a federal executive body responsible for developing government policy and legal regulation of official statistics; the collection of official statistical information on social, economic, demographic, environmental and other social processes in the Russian Federation; and oversight of official statistics in the manner and cases provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation.
