During his visit to the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Minister of Agriculture Nikolai Fyodorov addressed a workshop on priority socioeconomic issues titled, “2013-2020 State Programme: Efficient Mechanisms of Implementation.”
According to Mr Fyodorov, the federal budget allocations for the 2013-2020 state programme amount to 1.5 trillion roubles. The Government is allocating 137 billion roubles to support agriculture in 2013.
One of the programme’s major priorities is to develop the rural social sector, which is an important criterion for co-financing agreements with the regions.
According to Mr Fyodorov’s data, the regions have added 20 million roubles of their own funds to 14 billion roubles in federal budget allocations.
Mr Fyodorov also attended a meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (RAAS). They discussed problems associated with the integration of the RAAS institutes with the Ministry of Agriculture’s higher educational institutions to create regional research and education clusters. They also discussed internships and retraining research fellows and teachers at top national and foreign research centres and universities.
At the close of the meeting, the Ministry of Agriculture and the RAAS signed a cooperation agreement on implementing the 2013–2020 Agricultural Development state programme.
