This document, drafted by the Russian Ministry of Finance, aims to provide further support to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and fulfill the Russian Federation’s commitments as part of its G8 activities.
The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria was established in 2001, at the decision of the G8.
In 2006, the Russian Federation, during its G8 presidency, refused the status of the Global Fund’s recipient country, but in 2014, during Russia’s next presidency, the fight against infectious diseases will be included in the list of priorities.
In compliance with this document, in 2014 – 2016, annual financial allocations totaling 20 million US dollars will be made from the federal budget to the Global Fund.
The Russian Federation will provide further support to the Global Fund’s activities in fulfilling its commitments to the G8.
