The meeting participants have summarised the intermediate results of the implementation of the programme for the development of educational tourism in federal natural reserves and national parks. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is implementing the programme between 2011 and 2014. They have discussed, in particular, the need to create a comprehensive infrastructure for opening specially protected natural reserves for tourists, for improving the level of personnel training for holding excursion and educational work, and for conducting quality marketing in wildlife reserves and national parks.
During the meeting, Sergei Donskoi instructed the Department of State Policy and Regulation in Nature Protection and Environment to begin work on creating a series of standard design components of tourist infrastructure in natural reserves under a single brand name. This is bound to guarantee the uniform quality level of services offered to tourists.
