The draft federal law On Amending Article 36 of the Russian Federation Law On Customs Tariffs was submitted by the Ministry of Economic Development in connection with the adoption of Federal Law No 126-FZ On the Ratification of the Protocol on Russia’s Accession to the 15 April 1994 Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organisation of April 15, 1994, and in order to ensure the Russian Federation’s compliance with its obligation not to use auctions as a method for allotting tariff quotas between parties in foreign trade activity.
The document will not require annulment, suspension, amendments, supplements or the approval by the President, the Government and federal agencies of regulatory acts to stipulate the procedure and methods for the allotment of tariff quotas between parties in foreign trade activity.
The draft law will be examined at a Government meeting.
