Viktor Ishayev, Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, said at the board meeting of the ministry that the ministry has prepared five versions of the Socioeconomic Development of the Far East and Baikal Region state programme.
The Minister noted that all of the versions are scientifically based and development indicators have been calculated for each version.
“We must set the development vector,” Mr Ishayev said. “It is up to the country’s leadership to choose the programme version.”
The Minister said that the state programme is aimed at accelerating the development of the Far East and Baikal Region – a task set by the President. When developing the programme, the Ministry used as a basis the development forecasts until 2020 that were previously prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development, he said.
