The government has established tariff quotas for the export of ferrous waste and scrap outside the Eurasian Economic Union in 2025. A relevant resolution to this effect has been signed.
According to the resolution, effective from 1 January to 31 December 2025, the quota will be 1.5 million tonnes. Within the quota, ferrous waste and scrap exports will be subject to a duty of 5 percent but not less than €15 per tonne; exports in excess of the quota will be taxed 5 percent, but not less than €290 per tonne.
The decision was made to ensure a sufficient supply of these strategic raw materials to the domestic metals sector plants.
