Russia has extended the temporary ban on the export of rice and rice grits. A relevant resolution has been signed.
The restriction will be in effect until 31 December 2024. This decision was made to maintain stability in the domestic food market.
There will be a number of exceptions to the rice export ban.
In particular, it will not apply to the exports of these products to the Eurasian Economic Union member states, as well as Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
In addition, rice and rice grits can be sent abroad as humanitarian assistance, or as part of international transit shipments.
The temporary ban on the export of rice and rice grits was introduced in 2022 by the decision of the Subcommittee on Customs, Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation, Protective Measures in Foreign Trade of the Government Commission for Economic Development and Integration, and then extended throughout 30 June 2024.
