During Dmitry Medvedev’s visit to Cuba, Russia's Minister of Agriculture Nikolai Fyodorov met with his Cuban counterpart.
The parties agreed to speed up preparations for an intergovernmental agreement on expanding cooperation in veterinary inspection.
Mr Fyodorov and Mr Rodriguez Rollero also discussed the prospects of strategically important cooperation in the Russian-Cuban project on restoring plantations of cacao beans in Cuba and processing them. They noted that this project will attract vast Russian investment, create new jobs for Cubans and lead to a number of related projects, including infrastructure modernisation.
The ministers of agriculture expressed their confidence in the development of constructive dialogue with the goal of implementing joint agrarian projects.
