Mr Sokolov inspected the city transport infrastructure facilities to check their preparedness for the G20 Summit, and toured the Moskovsky Railway Station, the Marine Facade Port, the English Embankment passenger terminal, and Pulkovo Airport.
Upon the minister’s estimates, all of the work has been performed on schedule and will be completed soon.
During his visit, Mr Sokolov was shown Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping, whose First Deputy Rector, Alexander Kuzmin, reported on the university’s activities to prepare for the new academic year.
The academy was established following the reorganisation and merger of the Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy and the St Petersburg State University of Water Transport.
