The Ministry of Regional Development is monitoring the flooding in the Far Eastern Federal District, where as a result of heavy rains and the increased water level in the Amur, Zeya, Urkan and Selemdzha rivers a number of villages have been flooded. A state of emergency has been declared in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Primorye and Khabarovsk territories, the Amur Region and the Jewish Autonomous Region.
The flooding in the Far Eastern Federal District has not disrupted the operation of hazardous facilities, public infrastructure or socially significant facilities. Authorities informed people in the villages located in the flooded area about the danger through the media and personally.
Currently the Ministry of Regional Development is providing organisational support to municipal authorities by helping them prepare the documents needed to obtain assistance from the Government Reserve Fund on emergency prevention and disaster relief.
