The Ministry of Regional Development constantly monitors the implementation of priority investment projects in Russia’s regions.
Last week, regions forming the North Western Federal District, reported on the situation. Currently, 45 priority investment projects are being implemented in the District, including in the mining industry, agribusiness development, innovations, the fuel and energy sector, communications and mass media, housing construction, industrial production, development of tourism and recreation sector, transportation and healthcare.
Three projects have been successfully completed, including Establishing an Enterprise for Microchip Design and Production in the town of Gusev in the Kaliningrad Region, with 1.2 billion roubles worth of investment and 250 new jobs; Changing the Technology of Communication Services in St. Petersburg, with 840.9 million roubles of investment; Constructing a Carbamide Unit with a capacity of 1,500 tonnes a day (500,000 tonnes per year), and a Gas Turbine Generator Unit with a capacity of 320 MW in Cherepovetsky Azot Company, with 7.5 billion roubles worth of investment. Furthermore, another eight investment projects are being implemented, such as Constructing a Complex of Liquid Cargo in the Marine Terminal of Ust-Lug in the Leningrad Region, with 675 million roubles worth of investment, and 17,200 new jobs; Sheksna Industrial Park in the Vologda Region, with 1.8 billion roubles worth of investment, and 3,000 new jobs; Building and Reconstructing Five Small Hydropower Stations in the Republic of Karelia, with 1.3 billion roubles worth of investment, and 10,000 new jobs; Modernising Cardboard and Paper Production in the Arkhangelsk Region, with 14,879.2 million roubles worth of investment; the Pskovsky Tourist and Recreation Complex, with 6.5 billion roubles worth of investment; Building the Finno Ugric Ethnocultural Park in the Republic of Komi, with 367 million roubles worth of investment, and 79 new jobs; Building a Mining and Processing Plant at the Oleniy Ruchei Apatite-Nepheline Deposit in the Murmansk Region, with 29.7 billion roubles worth of investment, and 2,818 new jobs; Building a Complex for Advanced Processing of High-Protein Crops in the Kaliningrad Region, with 78.9 billion roubles worth of investment, and 456 new jobs.
Following the reports, the Ministry of regional Development will submit a final report on implementing priority investment projects to the Government.
