The Ministry of Communications and Mass Media has hosted the first meeting of a joint working group to draft technological initiatives and legislation in the sphere of international mail processing.
“One of the main priorities at present is to establish effective coordination between executive agencies, Russian Post and the Federal Customs Service,” said Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Media Mikhail Yevrayev as he commented on the main goal of the meeting.
The meeting participants discussed the timely processing of international mail in the run-up to the New Year celebrations, the establishment of new automated international mail exchange centres, as well as the introduction of an online data exchange network between Russian Post and the Federal Customs Service.
Similar meetings involving specialists from the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media, Russian Post and the Federal Customs Service will be held on a regular basis. The meeting participants have passed decisions on all issues discussed at the meeting. They have also set deadlines and appointed managers for each area.
