Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky has presented Government prizes in the field of culture and the arts on behalf of the Government. The awards ceremony was held in the Beethoven Hall of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.
“This prize is evidence of the public’s recognition of your talent, sense of purpose, wholehearted devotion and great contribution to the development of culture and the arts in Russia,” Mr Medinsky said in his opening remarks.
He said that the prize winners live in different parts of the country, from the trans-Baikal region to Kabardino-Balkaria, which is evidence of Russia’s huge territory and unique culture.
This is the eighth time that the prize has been awarded.
This year, it was presented to 47 people.
