On July 19, the G20 Finance and Labour Ministers Meeting was held in Moscow. This was the first such joint meeting in G20 history, an important innovation of the Russia’s G20 Presidency.
The meeting was focused on discussion of the coordinated policy of G20 countries to promote strong, sustainable and balanced growth and a supportive environment for job creation.
The discussion addressed two interrelated topics: the role of governments in creating incentives and eliminating barriers to investment in job creation, and economically effective social policies to facilitate job creation and provide equal opportunities for all members of society.
The meeting resulted in the adoption of the Joint G20 Finance and Labour Ministers' Communiqué on implementing integrated labour market policies, including employment policies, promoting job creation through investment, and developing the financial institutions which shape the investment climate in G20 countries.
