Government directives have coordinated several new draft regional programmes to assist the voluntary relocation of compatriots living abroad, including programmes concerning the Amur, Volgograd, Novgorod, Pskov and Sakhalin regions.
The relevant directives were drafted by the Ministry of Regional Development and submitted to the Government in execution of Presidential Executive Order No 1289 dated September 14, 2012 On the Implementation of the State Programme for Assisting the Voluntary Relocation of Compatriots Residing Abroad to the Russian Federation.
Regional relocation programmes are to be implemented in the near future, after their approval at the regional level.
At the same time, the above mentioned regions continue to accept participants in the state programme and their family members who were issued state programme certificates in 2012. In 2013, their number totaled about 500 people. Thus, the uninterrupted implementation of the state programme has been ensured in these regions.
