During the July 15 meeting, Viktor Ishayev, Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, urged the Envoy’s Office and the experts of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East to strengthen oversight of the implementation of various federal targeted programmes in the region.
He noted the slow pace at which budget allocations under many federal targeted programmes are being used in the federal district in 2013. Twenty federal targeted programmes are being implemented in the Far Eastern Federal District. In 2013, total funding envisioned for various measures under these programmes amounts to 142.74 billion roubles.
Regarding the integrated government service centres to be launched in the district, Viktor Ishayev said it is necessary to make sure that the plans of regional bodies are in synch with the tasks set by the head of the state.
Another topic discussed at the meeting was the summer health campaign. This summer, 143 recreation camps were due to open in the Far East, but two of these have not opened yet. The minister reminded those in attendance that the preparedness of children’s recreational facilities, all security measures and efforts to organise recreational activities should be monitored by regional heads and oversight bodies.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed preparing military communities for the upcoming heating season and preparing secondary schools for the academic year. They discussed the current social and political situation and national security issues in the Russian Far East.
