The events timed to coincide with the meeting were attended by the Minister for the Development of the Far East and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy in the Far Eastern Federal District Viktor Ishayev. Mr Ishayev met with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Yun Byung-se to discuss bilateral cooperation and projects of trilateral cooperation between Russia, the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Viktor Ishayev, the Chairman of the Russian side of the joint commission, also met with Chairman of the Korean side of the joint commission, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance of the Republic of Korea Hyun Oh-seok.
The delegations of the two countries, which comprised representatives of ministries and departments, shared their views on bilateral cooperation in trade, energy and natural resources, machine-building, construction, space, science and technology, agriculture and fisheries.
After the meeting, in his comments to the ITAR-TASS news agency, Viktor Ishayev said that the work of the Russian - South Korean intergovernmental commission has given an impulse to their bilateral cooperation.
