Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev has introduced Police Colonel Kazimir Botashev, the new head of the Karachay-Cherkess Interior Ministry, to the ministry’s staff. The decree on the new Minister’s appointment was signed by the President on June 26, 2013 (http://kremlin.ru/acts/18413).
Vladimir Kolokoltsev has outlined tasks for the new head of the Republic’s Interior Ministry, emphasising the importance of working with the staff. Mr Kolokoltsev stressed that each employee has to understand the level of his responsibility and the need to strictly comply with the existing rules and regulations. The Interior Minister also emphasised that any corrupt practices and breach of discipline are unacceptable.
Mr Kolokoltsev addressed the criminal situation in the republic, which remains tense. He stressed the need to step up efforts to solve crimes involving firearms, focus on fighting extremism and terrorism, and strengthen efforts to combat organised crime, racketeering and crimes against humanity.
The Interior Minister emphasised that staff should not concentrate on statistical reports, but should primarily focus on improving public safety and increasing the residents’ trust toward law enforcement agencies.
