The Federal Migration Service has hosted a meeting of the Interagency Commission for Implementing the State Programme on Facilitating Voluntary Resettlement to Russia of Compatriots Living Abroad. The meeting focused on considering the Russian Government’s draft directives with regard to regional resettlement programmes, which the Ministry of Regional Development is planning to submit to the Government.
The Ministry of Regional Development has already submitted programmes devised by the Voronezh, Kursk, Omsk, Penza, Smolensk, Tambov, Tver, Amur, Volgograd, Novgorod, Novosibirsk and Pskov regions, and the Republic of Mari El, for coordination by the Government.
Based on the results of the meeting, the Interagency Commission endorsed submission to the Government of regional resettlement programmes presented by the Altai and Khabarovsk Territories, the Irkutsk, Kaluga, Kemerovo, Kostroma, Saratov, Sakhalin, Sverdlovsk, and Tyumen regions, the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area.
The Interagency Commission also approved draft regional resettlement programmes of the republics of Buryatia, Karelia and Mordovia, the Chuvash Republic, the Trans-Baikal, Kamchatka and Krasnoyarsk territories, and the Kaliningrad, Kurgan, Nizhni Novgorod, Tula and Chelyabinsk regions, which are expected to be coordinated by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and the Ministry of Finance. The regional programme of the Republic of Khakassia, which has also been approved by the Interagency Commission, is to be finalised at the local level.
The said programmes have been submitted to the Russian Government by the Ministry of Regional Development.
The final stage has been reached in coordinating draft regional resettlement programmes of the Primorye Territory, the Arkhangelsk, Lipetsk, and Murmansk regions, and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra with federal executive agencies, primarily the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and the Federal Migration Service. After being finalised, these programmes will also be submitted to the Government by the Ministry of Regional Development.
