The agreement was signed by Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov, Director General of Russian Grids Oleg Budargin and President of the GLONASS non-profit partnership Alexander Gurko.
The sides agreed to cooperate in making the power generation industry more efficient and developing Russia’s unified energy system by means of solutions based on GLONASS/GPS satellite navigation. Under the signed document, the sides intend to develop and implement proposals for improving the normative-legal and normative-technical grounds for navigational support of Russia’s transport sector.
In order to increase the secure performance of power grid facilities, GLONASS will supply Russian Grids with suggestions for how to use navigation information technology to solve problems connected with the monitoring of automatic and special equipment, on-foot staff and critical facilities of the power grid infrastructure.
In the course of work, Russian Grids and the federal grid operator in navigation technology will develop proposals on how to pursue state policy based on the use of the GLONASS system and satellite navigation equipment, and will submit them to the Ministry of Transport.
