Vladimir Puchkov, Russian Minister of Civil Defenсe, Emergency Situations and Disaster Relief, arrived in Kazan on June 14 to personally inspect security and safety conditions at the facilities of the World University Summer Games and how well they are protected from natural disasters and other emergency situations.
The Minister was satisfied with what he had seen and underscored that all the safety issues for participants and visitors of the World University Games are being addressed at the highest level. According to Vladimir Puchkov, all the latest technologies and designs have been used here which ensure a comfortable stay for athletes and safety from natural and human-made risks and fires. The Minister said this after visiting Kazan Arena, which will host the Game’s opening ceremony on July 6.
The facilities’ safety level is currently higher than world standards, the Minister said. He explained that safety specialists, experts and laboratories had been working in Kazan on all the stages of design and construction.
