Energy Minister Alexander Novak spoke at the business forum, “Establishing the future of stable energy in the Asian-Pacific region,” held as part of the Asian and Pacific Energy Forum (APEF 2013).
Participants in the business forum discussed issues related to the development of energy cooperation in the region. In his address, the Energy Minister noted that Russian companies cooperate intensively on the Asian-Pacific market implementing joint projects in oil, gas and coal, and in the sphere of energy efficiency and the use of alternative energy sources.
Alexander Novak said the business forum helped outline new approaches targeted at improving energy security in Asia-Pacific countries, consider technological solutions contributing to stable and renewable energy consumption, specify forms of public-private partnership during the implementation of different initiatives.
After the forum, the APEF 2013 ministerial conference was opened, presided over by Alexander Novak.
The Russian Energy Minister also held bilateral meetings with Iranian Energy Minister Majid Namjoo, Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy and Industry Sherali Gul, and the Prime Ministers of the Pacific countries of Vanuatu and Tonga.
