The strategy aims to ensure the quality, safety, and affordability of products and services for children and families with children by creating a competitive, stable, and structurally balanced children's products industry in Russia.
The strategy’s major priorities are ensuring the safety, high quality, and affordability of children’s goods produced in Russia.
"A sub-programme under the State Programme for Industrial Development and Enhanced Competitiveness will serve a key instrument for implementing the strategy. This sub-programme will be developed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade this autumn,” Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said at the meeting.
The Minister also spoke of the need to increase from 4% in 2013 to 20% in 2020 the share of innovative products in total exports by supporting the industry and by eliminating design barriers. In addition, measures will be considered to prevent the import of counterfeit children’s products.
To support small and medium-sized businesses producing children’s goods, Mr Manturov proposed to create a list of priority projects for the industry. He also said that the Ministry is ready to facilitate the conclusion of tripartite preferential lending agreements between banks, regions, and investors to support these projects.
